I am 32 years old so I'm with the youngsters in this game !!! I'm married to Karen another long term tolerant to a quirky hobby and we have two relatively young children (aged 7 and 8, boy and girl). I worked in the University of Newcastle Department of Pathology as a Senior Registrar, and have recently been appointed a Consultant in Durham which in itself is relatively time consuming and keeps me away from gaming! Before coming to the North East in April of last year I had spent seven years serving with Her Majesties Forces, as a Pathologist in both Germany and London and the move has meant little opportunity for ftf gaming so I'm glad the internet provides opportunities such as this to play. My other interests are American football and other American sports ( I almost emigrated just to watch the sport!!! ) plus computers and comic collecting (2000 AD - a UK Sci-Fi mag ). I have been gaming since about 1975 and prefer Avalon Hill multiplayer games, in particular Republic of Rome, but also enjoy the Impulse games and games on the American Civil War. I was previously a member of a club in Manchester and have been an AHIKS member for several years (through which I met many gamers of good calibre). It has been sometime since I played EMA and I beg your indulgence if it takes me awhile to get into my stride. Alan has pointed out our joint "ventures" in Machiavelli and our stalled RoR (anyone want to join ??). I played a Pax B game with Joe where I was a poor USA and he played well to win if I recall as France. I hope thats a reasonable picture. If you've any offers I'd appreciate hearing from you. As you all know I've recently suffered a sad loss - Mieszko I, passing away before he could pass on his wonderful genetic material !! Regards PDB (Paul Barrett)
