Target of each conquest is determined by the following set of priorities (apologies in advance, Alan, this may take a while for you to resolve): - I will not attempt a conquest against any player with year cards left for defense (unless they have 0 gold) - I will not attempt a conquest against an area with a Population Value greater than 1 - Areas will be attacked in order of best possible Effectiveness Rating in the attack. - In the case of ties in Effectiveness Rating, I will give precedence to any area in the Kingdom of France, followed by an area in the Byzantine Empire (but remember, only if that player has no cards/gold left for defense). I will also give precedence to any area NOT in the Kingdom of Poland in the event of ties, but if a Polish area is the only one with this high an Effectiveness Rating, I will attack it (but only if the Polish player has no cards/gold for defense). As long as it follows the 4 priorities above, the attack can be against ANY area adjacent to the German empire (not over a sea area though). I will spend 20% of the gold I had after Step 5 above on each attack, or more if it is necessary to reach an Effectiveness Rating of 0 (this 20% INCLUDES the 2 gold it costs to make the attack -- basically I'm trying to spread my gold out so I can make up to 5 attacks).
