Wurtemburg* - LU/L TREATIES IN FORCE *Ending in 1550 Treaty between Hapsburgs and the Papacy 1. Hapsburgs and the Papacy declare an alliance 2. Each can use the territory of the other for movement, subject to agreement on a unit by unit basis. 3. The Papacy is allowed to send Missionaries through Hapsburg areas without hindrance. 4. This treaty lasts from 1545 to 1550. It will be renewable at the option of both parties. *Ending in 1551 TREATY OF BUDAPEST In the name of the most holy father of the Catholic Church, and in the name of Allah; be it known to all, and everyone whom it may concern, or to whom in any manner it may belong, that for many years past, Discords and Civil divisions being stir'd up in the the region, known as Hungary and in the surrounding waters of Sicily, and in the first place between Charles V of the Hapsburg Dynasty and the Sultan of Turks, Ruler of the Osman Dynasty and Caliphate of Islam, Suleiman I shall henceforth cease and a state of Peace and Friendship shall reign between our two Dynasties, our two Peoples, and our two Faiths. It is understood that more signatories may be added onto this treaty, and that this treaty shall henceforth beknown as a 'living' document, one that can be changed and can grow as the love, peace and commerce shall grow between our two dynasties. Henceforth, this treaty will be in force and shall be manifested in the following Articles: I All Hapsburg ships will remain west of the Stretto di Messina and the Sicilian Channel. All Ottoman ships shall remain east of the Strait created between the North Coast of Crete and the South Coast of Greece, as well as the strait created between the Southern Cretan Coast, and that of Africa. There will be only one exception to this. The Ottoman's will be permitted to have one vessel in the Northern Adriatic Sea for troop movements. I would also promise not to move in open water south of the hexes 3323, 3423, 3523, which would effectively prevent the Ottomans from invading the Hapsburg lands known as the Two Sicilies. II The Hapsburg Dynasty shall vacate the area known as Hungary and ensure that no military units of any kind are left by the end of the year 1547. They shall recognize the rightful rule of the House of Osman over the entire Hungary region. In return, the Osman's will endeavour to ensure that at no time, are there more than 2 military units in the area of Hungary. III The Hapsburg Dynasty will allow passage through Tyrolia of Ottoman troops. Ottoman troops at no time will be permitted to camp or stay in the Tyrolian area, and must endeavour to leave the region in the quickest possible way. IV The Osman Dynasty together with the the Hapsburg Dynasty recognises that both parties may adopt a policy of territorial, religious or cultural expansion . It is understood that neither dynasty will expect or demand any obligations or will expect any limiting of control for either party when it comes to the case of conquered territory. V The Hapsburg Dynasty will recognise the Ottoman right to territorial expansion in the Italian region assuming that it is not at the direct expense of the Hapsburg Dynasty. In return, the Osman Dynasty will recognise the Hapsburg right to assert its influence and control in the area known as the Holy Roman Empire. This goes so far as to recognise the Hapsburg right to religious conversion of their conquered areas. VI The Hapsburg Dynasty will be committed to brokering a peace between the Osman Dynasty and Papacy, both of which are currently at war. VII This treaty, set forth on February 21, 1547, shall last until January 1, 1551, although it can be extended at the agreement between both parties. *Ending in 1555 Treaty of 1543 As observer and requested by the Lutherians and Ottomans I hereby announce the treaty as specified below; 1. The Lutherans and the Ottoman Empire declare a secret alliance. a. The alliance is made public when the use of any provision of it shows that it exceeds the normal rules limitations of the game or upon the agreement by both parties that the time is ripe for such revelation. b. Each can use the territory of the other for movement, without movement point penalty. (Not that I think our paths will cross.) Implementation of this rule reveals the alliance and makes it public per above. 3. In return, freedom of religion is guaranteed only to Lutherans. Any prior freedom of religion granted to Papal missionaries is hereby revoked. a. The lives of Papal missionaries stacked with Ottoman military units upon revelation of this treaty are forfeit and are hereby beheaded per Ottoman custom. b. Ottoman Armies, Navies, and Jannissaries by default shall not kill missionaries of the Lutherans. Lutheran missionaries may freely stack with the Ottomans and are under the protection of the Ottoman Empire and Sulieman the Magnificent. c. Implementation of this rule reveals the alliance and makes it public per 1.a. 4. Each power will aid the other with monies when requested and when able. a. Said monies is considered foreign aid. These are not loans. b. Implementation of this rule DOES NOT necessarily reveal the alliance per 1.a. 5. This treaty lasts until mutual cancellation by one or both parties
