The Ottoman Empire hereby declares war on the enemies of the one true CHRISTIAN faith. From this day forth, there is to be a state of war between us, and the Lutheran/Calvinist/Protestant forces in the German states. I re-iterate the Treaty as presented by our Christian Hapsburg Brother: Treaty of Venice 1) The Hapsburgs offer the Ottomans a peace to last until 1555. 2) The Hapburgs offer the Ottomans access to Venice by land through the southermost hex of Tyrolia (only). 3) in return for 1 and 2 the Ottomans must form an alliance with the Papacy. If no alliance is signed this year (to last until 1555) then this treaty is void. I also Propose the Treaty of Rome between the Papacy and the Ottoman Crown: 1) The Ottomans extend the hand of Peace to the Papacy that is to last until 1555 2) The Papacy agrees and accepts the fact that the State of Venice shall hereby be considered part of the Ottoman Empire. This treaty grants the Papcy the rights to cross what was in the past considered the Venetian Borders. 3) Our armies will work in clsoe conjunction with one another (no ZOC) 4) The Ottomans will immediately declare war against the Calvinist forces in Germany. 5) All Christian areas in the Ottoman Empire will remain Catholic. Protestant missionaries will be beheaded. The Ottomans will place all new reinforcements and rebuilds in Constantinople (renamed Istanbul in commemoration of Selim)!! Our armies will move. Hmmm - that bastard Sulieman left me with nothing. I guess I had better not declare war after all, and will build if I can. I haven't been following by treasury levels. *Papal States I believe I have three Jesuits ready to start preaching in Vienna this turn. I'd like to get away without moving any armies this coming turn and I have no intention of making any hostile moves. My missionaries, of course, are expected to be busy. No new word from my good friend Suly to the East, so I take that to mean he has no interest in any sort of a treaty. Oh, well.
